Hi! I am José del Águila Ferrandis. I started on Fall 2018 my Ph.D. in Mechanical and Computational Engineering. I am working at MIT Sea Grant under the supervision of Professor Michael Triantafyllou.
I am very passionate about hydrodynamics and studying non-linear motions of floating objects. The analysis and optimization of such physical systems presents a series of challenges that limit the practical use of computational tools for motion prediction and optimization. Professor Triantafyllou and I aim to develop the surrogate models that characterize these complex physical systems.
